Luke Ministry Team

Luke 8:1  And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and showing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him,   He preached the gospel of the kingdom as he went through each city and village. This was the gospel of repentance and preparation for the Kingdom of God. The kingdom was with Jesus, he is the King, but the kingdom is not yet of this world. It is of the Spirit, the Spirit abides with Christ. After Christ was killed and risen from the grave. we preach the gospel of forgiveness of sin by his blood through faith. We receive Jesus and his Spirit, making us children of the kingdom.
Luke 8:2  And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,
Luke 8:3  And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.

The twelve disciples learned from Jesus as he preached. They saw him heal and cast out demons. The Rabbis did not teach women, but here we see that women were along side the disciples. They gave of their substance, no doubt they fed Jesus and mended his clothing and were servants to him. He allowed this, having love for them. Perhaps they were doing the same things as the disciples? There is nothing in the Bible forbidding women as missionaries. The only restrictions were that they were not to have authority over men in the church setting. As in the home, the man is to be the head.   Mary Magdalene was the first to meet Jesus after his resurrection. She was the first person he sent to tell the others. Perhaps this also was the woman who anointed his feet.   Joanna and Mary Magdalene and other women were the first to witness after the resurrection. The 11 disciples were filled with doubts and fear.   Luke 24:10  It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles.
Luke 24:11  And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.

Suzanna, means lily, rose, joy, a beautiful name. God made women fair. The Lily of the valley, Jesus, had other flowers with him who ministered to him and for him. One thing is sure, they were not out to make a name for themselves, but to minister unto needs. Proud arrogant servants need not apply.

I believe that if Jesus can work in Mary Magdalene's life He can work in yours and mine. If He can set free the Gadarene demoniac, the He can set us free as well. Praise to Him who sets the captive free.
   P. S. in speaking of words....See how Wuest translates Matthew 12:36 (which I think the Amplified Bible used as a source) "Moreover, I am speaking to you, Every word which men shall speak which has no legitimate work, which is inoperative and thus morally useless and unprofitable, they shall give account of at the day of judgement, for by your words you shall be justified and by your words shall you be condemned."-- wow
