Be Restored Or Burn

Isa 1:26 And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.

God wants to restore man. The fallen city of Jerusalem, was the result of sin and idolatry. The first purpose of God is restoration. That's why he sent His Son Jesus, to save the lost. He is the Lord's counselor. He brings us the Holy Spirit and the wisdom of God.

Isa 1:27 Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness.

Jesus is the redeemer of the Holy City. In Him we are the righteousness of God; through faith, not of works. We are declared righteous and the Holy Spirit in us is the presence and righteousness of God.

Rom 3:21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
Rom 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
John 16:8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
John 16:9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
John 16:10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
John 16:11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

Isa 1:28 And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the LORD shall be consumed.

Apart from Jesus, there is the wrath of God.

Rom 2:5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
Rom 2:6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
Rom 2:7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
Rom 2:8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
Rom 2:9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
Rom 2:10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
Rom 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God.

Isa 1:29 For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which ye have desired, and ye shall be confounded for the gardens that ye have chosen.

Isa 2:13 And upon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan,

Tree huggers? Those who worship strange gods under the trees and pagan worship, in the open air gardens. They were rebellious against the creator, worshipping the creation and made up gods and goddesses, as many do even today.

Isa 1:30 For ye shall be as an oak whose leaf fadeth, and as a garden that hath no water.
Isa 1:31 And the strong shall be as tow, and the maker of it as a spark, and they shall both burn together, and none shall quench them.

Ye shall wither and die as a branch broken off. Tow is flax cord or string. Linen cloth made from flax was used to wrap the mummies in the early Egyptian tombs. When ignited it burns away as in the story of Samson:

Judg 16:9 Now there were men lying in wait, abiding with her in the chamber. And she said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he brake the withs, as a thread of tow is broken when it toucheth the fire. So his strength was not known.

John 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

The ungodly shall suffer death and hellfire. The redeemed shall live with God forever.

Isaiah 1 - Avenger and Purifier

Avenger and Purifier

Isa 1:24 Therefore saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies:

Isaiah speaks the three names of God; Lord: Jesus, the Word is Lord; God the Father is the Lord of hosts, "hosts" referring to the angelic armies of heaven. He is the Mighty One of Israel, also the Holy Spirit, the power of God on earth. The three are one God.

Isa 1:25 And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin:

God will avenge, not us.

Lev 19:18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.

Luke 18:7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
Luke 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

We are to trust in the Lord, keep our eyes on Jesus, pray without ceasing, God knows. He hates sin, but wishes to restore, more than to destroy.

Psa 103:8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
Psa 103:9 He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
Psa 103:10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
Psa 103:11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
Psa 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
Psa 103:13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.
Psa 103:14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
Psa 103:15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
Psa 103:16 For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
Psa 103:17 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;
Psa 103:18 To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.

He will remove the dross, from the silver or the gold, and remove the tin, the mixture, the double-mindedness. We are to be pruned, and tried in the refiners fire. To be made pure and single minded. Only through Jesus can we made righteous and pure of sins.

Mal 3:2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:
Mal 3:3 And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.
Mal 3:4 Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the LORD, as in the days of old, and as in former years.

He will avenge himself of those who are His enemies and restore His elect. Choose restoration, for no man can stand against God Almighty. Better to suffer the heat for a while and come forth as pure gold, than to be cast into the lake of fire forever. Hear the word of the Lord.

Isaiah 1 - Unfaithful City

Unfaithful City

Isa 1:21 How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.

The faithful city was Jerusalem, the place of worship and the temple of God had turned to sin and rebellion; worshipping other gods.

Isa 1:22 Thy silver is become dross, thy wine mixed with water:

Silver is become dross, worthless, being used for worthless things; it was not used to help the poor or those in need, The wine weakened with water, wine was no longer pure but diluted.

Isa 1:23 Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.

The princes are as corrupt politicians, rebellious, giving away the country to thieves: everyone loving gifts and bribes: they only help those who will help them. Righteous judgment had left them. They may claim to care for others only to stay in power. This was supposed to be the city of God, but it had become the city of thieves and corruption.

Jesus came to restore righteousness and to heal the sick, even in Jerusalem.

Mat 21:11 And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.
Mat 21:12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
Mat 21:13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
Mat 21:14 And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.

James 1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Jerusalem in Isaiah's time had fallen into sin. In this time the city leaders in Jerusalem were to host a homosexual invasion, little has changed in Jerusalem.

Jesus will return and Jerusalem again will be the place of righteousness.

Rom 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
Rom 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
Rom 11:27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

Acts 2:36  Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
Acts 2:37  Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
Acts 2:38  Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 2:39  For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Acts 2:40  And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
Acts 2:41  Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
Acts 2:42  And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
 
Apostles doctrine
 
Continued steadfastly in the Apostles docrtrine - They gave themselves continually, they were single-minded, in learning the truth of the faith in Jesus Christ. They relied on the apostles to communicate to them who Jesus was and what He had done. They just trusted in Jesus; now they want to know more! The first duty of fellowship is to have a like mind: the mind of Christ.
 
One heart
 
Acts 4:32  And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
Acts 4:33  And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
Acts 4:34  Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
Acts 4:35  And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.
 
Common salvation

Jude 1:3  Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

Fellowship in communion

 
Fellowship - koinonia: association, like minded participation, communion together in the Holy Spirit. This includes breaking of bread: In communion, remembering the Lord's supper and also in eating together in fellowship.
 prayer.
 
1 Cor 11:26  For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the Lord's death till he come.
1 Cor 11:27  Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
1 Cor 11:28  But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

 
Fellowship in prayer
 
Coming together in one mind, agreeing together in prayer. Praying together in one Spirit. Praying together individually and with unity in the Spirit through prayer in words understood and in utterances understood by God's Spirit, from the heart.
 
Rom 8:26  Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Rom 8:27  And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Rom 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
 
1 Cor 1:4  I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;
1 Cor 1:5  That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;
1 Cor 1:6  Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:
1 Cor 1:7  So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:
1 Cor 1:8  Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Mat 11:29  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Isaiah 1 - Wash away sin

Wash away sin

Isa 1:16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;

Wash your hands, cleanse your hands from evil doings. Put away of your doings and your evil heart from God's eyes; stop doing evil. The message of repentance as taught by John the Baptist and Jesus. Turn from your evil ways, not just washing hands before eating, but a change of heart and deeds.

Mat 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
Mat 3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

Mat 23:26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
Mat 23:27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
Mat 23:28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

Isa 1:17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

Learn to do good, learn right from wrong, and do what is required of you as God's people. Too many who claim to be born-again have not repented or learned right from wrong. Many are self willed and not following God. God hasn't changed, we must change. If we follow the world, the world is evil. The world is accepting evil behavior as normal.

Isa 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Sit down and listen, stop running around and take heed to God's word. If you repent and believe in His promises, (Receive Jesus as savior); though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

A beautiful promise of what Jesus has done for us.

1 Cor 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
1 Cor 6:10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
1 Cor 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Isa 1:19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
Isa 1:20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

A stern warning and reminder of God's covenant with Israel. You shall reap what you sow.

Isaiah 1 - Empty Worship

Empty worship

Isa 1:10 Hear the word of the LORD, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.

God compares them to Sodom and Gomorrah; listen to God and His law. God is real, not imaginary, not of their making or just a tradition. God lives.

Isa 1:11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.

1 Sam 15:22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
1 Sam 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry...

Isa 1:12 When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts?
Isa 1:13 Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.
Isa 1:14 Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.
Isa 1:15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.

Why? Because it was not in truth. They were going through empty rituals and they were not even thinking as they did it. It had become a habit with them and they had blood on their hands. They were guilty of sin, murder, rebellion and they had no concern for their condition.

We must be careful to not make church just empty rituals; with or without God in our presence.

John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

We are to offer sacrifices of praise to the LORD from clean hands and clean hearts. We are not to be the dead doing dead rituals to please the spiritually dead. Nor should a place of worship become as a public meeting hall, with no order or reverence towards God.

 Rebellious People of Judah

Isa 1:5 Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.

God was punishing his disobedient people according to His covenant with them, but it did no good. Why strike them again? They will revolt more and more; because the whole head is sick with rebellion and the whole heart is weak, unable to be corrected. They were totally depraved.

Isa 1:6 From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.

Speaking in metaphors of the body of his people; apply these words to their spiritual condition. What if Jesus spoke of His church body like this?

1 Cor 12:26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

There is some corruption in the church body, but the whole body is not corrupt.

1 Cor 12:27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

Isa 1:7 Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.

Sounds like modern day Iraq.

Isa 1:8 And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.

The daughter of Zion refers to the people of Jerusalem. The temple of God will be as an abandoned guard shack when God's presence leaves it.

Isa 1:9 Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.

Because there were a few people faithful to the Lord in Judah, God did not destroy them like he did the homosexual cities of Sodom and Gomorrha. God hates this sinful behavior.

Isaiah 1 - Hear the message of the LORD

Hear the message of the LORD

Isaiah contains 66 chapters, as many chapters as there are books of the Bible. The prophesies of Isaiah reveal much about the coming Messiah. He is the most often quoted prophet of the new testament.

Isa 1:1 The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.

The vision and the prophecy of Isaiah, the son of Amoz, some 700 years before Christ Jesus came. Isaiah means, Salvation is of the LORD. Judah and Jerusalem were split into two kingdoms, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah. Judah had good kings and bad kings. Israel had about 18 kings, all evil and rebellious against God. Isaiah lived in Jerusalem of Judah.

Isa 1:2 Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.

The LORD has spoken; hear, listen in heaven and on earth. The message is a testimony to angels and to all on earth about his people. I have nourished and brought up children, the Jews, and they have rebelled against me. A nation founded under God, like our nation. A nation called Gods firstborn.

Exo 4:22 And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:

Isaiah was prophesying to his nation who had prospered and turned to idolotry and personal wickedness. God wants all to know that their sins are not hidden from him.

Isa 1:3 The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.

God is comparing Israel, all his chosen people to animals and the animals are wiser by instinct then are his rebellious children. The ox knows his owner; the ass or donkey, knows his masters place provided for him, but Gods people turn away to other gods and lusts of the flesh.

A dog will run to his owner with great pleasure. A friend or spouse may be cool or judgmental. Should we not run to our loved ones and especially to our God at all times? The God who created and forgave our sins, shall we not love him with all our hearts and our neighbor as ourselves?

Isa 1:4 Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.

God speaks to all; a sinful nation, a people covered with sins, an offspring of evildoers, not resembling the father who created them for holiness. The children are corrupters, as one bad apple corrupts others, as rust on metal, as gossip spreads into more gossip. Their wickedness increased unto more and more wickedness. They have forsaken the LORD, and done evil in his sight, not fearing him. They have provoked the Holy one unto anger; they have grieved the Holy Spirit of God.

Eph 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
Eph 4:31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

They are gone away, backsliden. Backsliders, turning their backs to God and willfully sinning. They left God behind in their seeking the enticements of the flesh and the devil.

Jer 11:10 They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, which refused to hear my words; and they went after other gods to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.

This is also happening today, all over the world. God knows his people and is calling them to repentance. The very fact that God sees and knows what is going on, should cause us to turn to him. Put away pride, envy, anger, lusts and rebellion. Return to your God in the Spirit of meekness, love and truth.

What about the Ten Commandments?

John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
John 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

WHAT ABOUT THE 10 COMMANDMENTS GOD GAVE TO MOSES
Rom 13:8  Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
Rom 13:9  For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Rom 13:10  Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

 
Rom 14:1  Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
Rom 14:2  For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
Rom 14:3  Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.

Mat 22:36  Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

Gal 6:1  Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

Revelation 22 - A final warning

A final warning

Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

That is a serious statement. Every commentator on Revelation, has a different view of the book, so are all cursed? I do not believe so. The original writing of Revelation is not changed.

James 3:1 My brethren, be not many masters (teachers), knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.

We have incomplete understanding until Jesus comes. But we are to study to rightly divide the word of truth. Seek truth from comparing scripture with scripture and walking in his love and gentleness.

1 Cor 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
1 Cor 13:9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
1 Cor 13:10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
1 Cor 13:11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
1 Cor 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

2 Tim 2:15 Study (do dilgence) to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

False prophets and false teachers shall not enter the holy city. We must beware of false doctrines and traditions.

Mat 15:2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
Mat 15:3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

Rev 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

He that testifies from the word of Jesus, and God the Father speaks through His Son. Even so come for your people, Lord Jesus. We are not promised perfect health and healing and eternal life in this body. Jesus has given us eternal life in His Spirit. Our soul is made alive by Him. His Spirit gives life eternal and more abundant life here and now.

Rom 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken (give life to) your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Rom 8:12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
Rom 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Rev 22:21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

We need his grace for salvation and for this life to serve him. The New Covenant is a covenant of grace, through faith in Jesus Christ. We are on a journey to the promise land. We have a better understanding now, through the Revelation of Jesus Christ. Christ has overcome for us on the cross. The final result will be the removal of all sin and sinners and an eternal inheritance reserved for us in the Holy City. Is your name written in the book of life? This concludes our study of the Revelation.

Revelation 22 - Come, you that hear

Come, you that hear

Rev 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

Jesus sent the angel to testify these things to the churches. Jesus is the root, the creator of David and also the offsprings in the flesh.

Isa 11:1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
Isa 11:2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

Mat 22:41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,
Mat 22:42 Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David.
Mat 22:43 He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,
Mat 22:44 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?
Mat 22:45 If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?
Mat 22:46 And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.

Rev 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

The Spirit is speaking in your heart, come. The bride, the church is inviting you to come to the living waters. Drink of the river of life, hear and respond to Jesus.

Revelations 22 - The gate into the city

The gate into the city

Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Those who love Jesus and are saved by his blood, through faith, do his commandments from a heart of love.

John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
John 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

They may have eternal life, entering in through the gate of the city. Jesus is the entrance to the city of God.

Mat 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

John 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
John 10:2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
John 10:3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
John 10:4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
John 10:5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

We follow Jesus through the door, the Porter is the Holy Spirit who allows us to enter and exit following the Shepherd. Jesus must bring us through the gate and into the kingdom of heaven.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Rev 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

A dog is anyone outside the covenant with God. We are in Christ, not outside. Sorcerers trust the power of satan and will perish with him in the lake of fire. Whoremongers sell people for sex and lust, including pornography, Beware lest you partake of their deeds. Murderers are killers, but this does not include instruments of protection. God ordained death to those who murder. War brings killing, to protect our country. People who kill in the name of God, are not of God. God will avenge. Idolaters, are those who worship things other than God. Included in the list our liars. Satan is the father of lies. We are to speak the truth, in love.

Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

This list includes the fearful and unbelieving, perhaps these are as the dogs. Afraid of what others might think, instead of fearing God. Fear of man, cowering in the dark, instead of the having fear of God and coming to the light.

John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
John 3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

Do not fear Jesus, He is God's light sent to forgive our sins. He is loving you and is the way through the gate of the Holy City.

Revelation 22 - The time is at hand

The time is at hand

Rev 22:10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.

Remember that Revelation began with a scroll with seven seals. It's contents had been hidden until now.

Rev 5:2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?
Rev 5:3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
Rev 5:4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.
Rev 5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

Jesus opened the book of Revelation for us; the things written in the book is for now, for the time is at hand for it's fulfillment. The book is to remain open. Jesus is coming soon and so is the beast. Do not be discouraged by what is occurring in the world, hold tight to the things you were taught about Jesus.

Heb 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
Heb 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Rev 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

There may not be time to change, come to Jesus now for eternal life.

2 Cor 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
2 Cor 6:1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
2 Cor 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

Rev 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Jesus comes soon, very soon.

Mat 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

He will reward his people who are expecting him with eternal life, crowns, and authority with him in the Millennium and in heaven.

Rev 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

Rev 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
Rev 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

Jesus shares the title of the Father, I AM, Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. Those who trust in him shall have no end of life. There is more for us, friends. This life is only a testing place, to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Revelation 22 - Keep the Sayings

Keep the Sayings

Rev 22:6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to show unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.

These sayings, the prophecy of Revelation given to John, these things are faithful and true. For they came from the throne of God. These words are being declared by an angel, to show the things which must shortly be done.

Rev 22:7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

Jesus is coming quickly, when he comes. All generations are to expect him, to anticipate the end and to be prepared. These words tell us of future events and warns us to be true to God's word and to keep our eyes upon Jesus. We shall be blessed if we take heed to these prophesies. Revelation is one book that many do not teach, and those who do, do not often agree. How then can we keep the sayings? There are warnings that all can see. Beware of the coming beast and follow Jesus each minute, for there will be a falling away. There will be hostility towards the church and towards Israel before he comes. This is already happening. Trust in the Lord and keep his sayings. Do not worship a man, Mary or a saint, nor an angel.

Rev 22:8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which showed me these things.

John again, being flesh, fell before the heavenly angel to worship him, but was told not to. An angel is a created servant of God, just as man is.

Rev 22:9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.

Worship God and worship His Son, Jesus. Jesus is not an angel, nor is he just a man. He is God, the Living Word, made flesh.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Heb 1:6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

Mat 14:31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
Mat 14:32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.
Mat 14:33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

Jesus is worshipped with God the Father.

Our responsibilities in Heaven

Rev 22:3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

Heaven shall have none of the curses given to Adam to live with. No pain or sorrows. No hard labor and no cursed ground. We shall be in the presence of God the Father and the Son, serving him. The throne is of both the Father and the Lamb; one throne. We glorify God through His Son. We worship and continue to serve him in heaven. It will be pure joy.

Rev 22:4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

1 Cor 13:10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
1 Cor 13:11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
1 Cor 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

This will be the greatest glory of heaven: to know God, to know Jesus, more intimately and wonderfully than we ever could on earth. "It is the chief blessing of heaven, the cream of heaven, the heaven of heaven, that the saints shall there see Jesus." (Spurgeon)

Rev 7:3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

Sealed by the Holy Spirit. We belong to God, for we are of His Spirit and are identified as being His.

Rev 22:5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

No more darkness in heaven, no sin, no suffering. God gives us his light and we will reign with him for ever. We reign because we are children of the king and receive the eternal inheritance with Jesus.

Col 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
Col 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
Col 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Col 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
Col 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Col 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Col 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
Col 1:19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
Col 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

We were born into sin and separation from God. As born-again saints we are made the righteousness of Christ; holy and eternally reconciled for service and eternal life with the Father and the Son.

2 Thes 3:14-18 - Obedient life

Obedient life

2 Th 3:14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.

2 Th 3:6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.

Some purposely cause problems in the Internet chats, they think its cool. As society becomes more and more removed from God, they will make sport of us, mocking and causing problems to those of faith. They did it to Jesus, they will do it to us. We can hide in our church, but that is not what God commanded. We are to go into the world as lights of God's truth.

1 Pet 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
1 Pet 3:16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

2 Cor 13:4 For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.
2 Cor 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
2 Cor 13:6 But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.
2 Cor 13:7 Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates.
2 Cor 13:8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.
2 Cor 13:9 For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection.

What of those among us who refuse to learn and or obey God's word? Some are immature, some are worldly, some are proud. We are told to withdraw from them, to not accept their behavior. Perhaps they will be convicted by the Holy Spirit and be ashamed.

2 Th 3:15 Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

It has been said that Christians shoot their wounded, those who stumble or act in a bad way. We arenot to disown them, or attack them, for they are our brothers and sisters. We are to admonish them. We are to warn them and seek to get them to obey God's word. They may say, "you are judging." To judge would be to condemn them, or to say there is no hope. Where there is life there is hope. If a brother or sister belongs to Jesus, he will respond to words of correction. If they are not of God, God will root them out.

Mat 13:24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
Mat 13:25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
Mat 13:26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
Mat 13:27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
Mat 13:28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
Mat 13:29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
Mat 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

We are not the Lord, let him root out the tares in his time. If we become the judges, we do not know as the Lord. Be careful who you correct and go to him, not to another as a gossiper.

Mat 7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Mat 7:4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
Mat 7:5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

2 Tim 2:24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
2 Tim 2:25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
2 Tim 2:26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Salutation

2 Th 3:16 Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.

Jesus is the Lord of peace. Isaiah spoke several names describing the coming Messiah:

Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

2 Th 3:17 The salutation of Paul with mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write.

Gal 6:11 Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand.

Paul had another do the writing of the letters that he spoke from, God's heart. At the end of the letter he would write a salutation with his name. From the epistle to the Galatians, we see that Paul wrote in large letters, which has led many to believe that he had poor eyesight, perhaps this was his "thorn in the flesh."

2 Cor 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
2 Cor 12:8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
2 Cor 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

My thoughts of this, were that when Paul spoke of "the messenger of Satan to buffet me," that it could have been a bad spirit tormenting him about things of the past or perhaps other weaknesses. My dear friends, look in your own life at the ways the devil brings discouragement and be as Paul, as he repeats the Lord's words:" My grace is sufficient."

1 Cor 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

2 Th 3:18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

Revelation 22 - River of Life

River of Life

Rev 22:1 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

Water is life to living things.

Psa 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

John 4:10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

The water that Jesus gives is of the Holy Spirit. What kind of water is in our spiritual dwelling place? Is the pure water actual water? Or is it the outflowing of God's Holy Spirit? Will we need water in heaven? The water proceeds from the throne of God and the Lamb.

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
John 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

The Spirit will abide with the saints forever; living water that will not be shut off. The word of God is also as water.

Rev 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

Rev 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

John 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Rev 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

There is a river flowing down a street, One tree on either side of the river. The river must flow through the tree of life. This is the tree as in the Garden of Eden.

Gen 2:9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

Gen 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
Gen 3:23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
Gen 3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

The tree had twelve fruits, one for each month. It was designed for earth in the garden.

Prov 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

The fruit of righteousness, a continual supply. The leaves were for the healing of the nations. Leaves hang on a tree. Jesus hung on a tree to bring healing to the nations. There would be no need for healing if their had been no sin. Adam was created perfect and would have lived forever, had he not sinned.

Is it real water or spiritual? Perhaps both, we shall see it someday.

John 3:12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
James 1:7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

We see with spiritual eyes the things of God.

Revelation 21 - Holy Light

Holy Light

Rev 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

No temple in the Holy New Jerusalem, the city of God and the bride; For God almighty and His Son Jesus are the temple, the place of worship first hand, not through priests and traditions for we shall worship in their presence. Jesus is included, for He shares the glory of the Father. You cannot come to God, but by believing in the Son; the Lamb of God.

John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Rev 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

Again, Father and Son share the glory and are the light of the Holy City, with the various heavenly gems casting colors; nothing to block the glory of God. But through them, is truth and light and glory that we can only imagine.

1 Cor 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
1 Cor 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

Rev 21:24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

The nations of those saved shall walk in their light.

Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

The kings of the earth do bring their glory and honor to it. Kings, such as King David, King Solomon, Righteous rulers perhaps as Constantine; Good rulers and presidents of our country; Washington to Bush. Also present will be the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Perhaps also those who ruled during the Millennium of the saints of God.

Rev 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Rev 21:25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

The gates remain open, for it is always light and there is no threat from the devil for he is in the lake of fire, forever. There is no threat of enemy invaders, for only those who are the redeemed of the Lord and the angels are able to enter.

Rev 21:26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

What is the glory and honor of the nations? The good fruit and good works of the saints in this life.

1 Cor 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
1 Cor 3:12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
1 Cor 3:13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
1 Cor 3:14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

Rev 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Is your name written in the Lamb's book of life?

Revelation 21 - Precious stones and pearly gates

Precious stones and pearly gates

Rev 21:18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.

Pure gold and transparent. As we are to be pure and transparent, free from sin.

1 Pet 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

Rev 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

The richness is spiritual, not material. There is no use for physical wealth in the spiritual city. All the beauty is to house those beautiful saints, free of sin, who have seen the Lord and are made pure by his forgiveness and grace. Dwelling with them is the most Holy God; the Father and the Son.

Rev 21:19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
Rev 21:20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.

The beautiful Holy City was represented symbolically by the breastplate worn by the high priest. Here it is described from God's own design given for it's construction.

Exo 28:15 And thou shalt make the breastplate of judgment with cunning work; after the work of the ephod thou shalt make it; of gold, of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine twined linen, shalt thou make it.
Exo 28:16 Foursquare it shall be being doubled; a span shall be the length thereof, and a span shall be the breadth thereof.
Exo 28:17 And thou shalt set in it settings of stones, even four rows of stones: the first row shall be a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle: this shall be the first row.
Exo 28:18 And the second row shall be an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond.
Exo 28:19 And the third row a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst.
Exo 28:20 And the fourth row a beryl, and an onyx, and a jasper: they shall be set in gold in their enclosings.
Exo 28:21 And the stones shall be with the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names, like the engravings of a signet; every one with his name shall they be according to the twelve tribes.

Rev 21:21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

The twelve gates, were one pearl for each gate. I see this as a beautiful glowing transparent white in color; but not necessarily round in shape. Everything else seems to be clear and transparent. The stones mentioned each having various hues of colors. Some churches have stained glass windows, that always look their best with the suns light projecting colors into the tabernacle. Heaven will be a beautiful place of colored lights and glory.

Revelation 21 - Four square city

Four square city

Rev 21:15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
Rev 21:16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

The city is four square, such as a cube. We have seen churches named, Foursquare. This is referring to God's dwelling place with the saints. A place where God's presence dwells. The Holy City, the New Jerusalem, the tabernacle of God with the saints.

He measured the city with the reed: The size of the New Jerusalem is enormous; twelve thousand furlongs equals 1,500 miles. This is the same distance from Maine to Florida; the square footage would approximate the size of the Moon. (Guzik)

Rev 21:17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

The cubit is the measure of the elbow to the tip of the middle finger. The measure of a man was about 18 inches, and the angel was as a man in stature. This being an average stature of man. A man six foot three inches measures 21 inches. Some Egyptian cubits were 21 inches. Twelve times twelve; twelve apostles times the 12 tribes equals one hundred forty-four cubits, or 72 yards. The wall is far beneath the height of the city. There will be plenty of room for all the saints.

Those who cleanse the church of infidels

Mat 13:27  So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?

I was in  life-christian belief 20. I posted some scriptures and a man in the room called me a false prophet and a devil. He went on and on for 30 minutes. I should have left but kept standing. He quotes the same scriptures I believe and calls me false. No one would come to my side in this, but one young believer. Finally I said to the accuser, You are blaspheming the Holy Spirit. for he is in me. That finally got to him and he left the room. He was also saying the denominations were of the devil. After he left the quiet ones said that they were all Mesianic Jews.

 
To have everything I said thrown back at me, and being accused of things I never said is another example of those who must cleanse the church of false ones. There are many in the chats doing this; they think they are doing the Lords work. He was a "prophet" I said you are a false one then. You are not hearing from God.
 
This verse was used as justification:
 
1 Pet 4:17  For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
 
That poor guy thought he had the devil cornered. From this I learned ...Be not quick to label people, even when you know they are nuts. Better to show grace, if accused, know that they accused Jesus too.
 
One final word, stop the gossip, stop the accusing, God is judge. If a person is in error. show them their error, don't scream at them that they are a devil. This is using the letter of the law to destroy, if they are causing trouble leave them, or if in your room that is in one accord, remove them. It just might be that we are in error? So show grace at all times.
 
Gal 6:1  Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

Revelation 21 - New Jerusalem, the bride

New Jerusalem, the bride

Rev 21:9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will show thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.

The city is the lamb's wife?

Rev 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Here the city is like a bride, in verse 21:9, it is called the bride, the Lamb's wife. It will house the church, the bride of Christ. One does not marry a building or a city, but a person. The church building is not the body of Christ, but those within are his. The New Jerusalem is a jeweled box, a dwelling place to feature the contents; the people of God.

Rev 21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

The angel showed John the Holy city.

Rev 21:11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

God will dwell in the city; and her light will be as a clear white jasper stone.

Rev 21:12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:

Walls and gates, named after the twelve tribes, and at the gates twelve angels.

Rev 21:13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
Rev 21:14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

Twelve foundations, representing the twelve apostles of the Lamb. I think Paul is included in the apostles list.

1 Cor 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

Revelation 21 - Words from the Throne

Words from the Throne

Rev 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

God sits on the throne. Behold I (am) make all things new. Behold, I give, first occurring in the Bible in Genesis.

Gen 1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

God makes all things new, first he makes us new, born-again saints of God.

2 Cor 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

We enter into eternal life, but all things of earth shall pass away. He makes all things new for the Spirit man.

1 Cor 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

Rev 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

New eternal life, requires new eternal surroundings. God spoke to John to write these things down for us to see and to know, His word is true and faithful.

Lam 3:22 It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
Lam 3:23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Rev 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

He is faithful and true, he is from everlasting to everlasting; Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end (of creation), for there is no end to almighty God. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. Springs of living water and the water of the living word. We cannot survive in our bodies without water. God's Spirit in our eternal life is described as living waters.

John 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Rev 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

He that overcomes the devil and sin, how? Through faith and confession that Jesus is Lord. Jesus is our way to overcome, for he has fought our battle for us. In him is our victory!

Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Those who continue in their sinful life, afraid to accept Jesus, afraid of what others may think, their sins remain. They will not inherit the things of God. Those who do not believe the truth shall lose out; they are overcome by sin and death. They shall also be cast into the lake of fire with satan, death and hell. Turn away from death and receive new life in Christ Jesus.

1 Cor 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
1 Cor 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
1 Cor 15:56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
1 Cor 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
