Revelation 22 - Our responsibilities in Heaven

Our responsibilities in Heaven

Rev 22:3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

Heaven shall have none of the curses given to Adam to live with. No pain or sorrows. No hard labor and no cursed ground. We shall be in the presence of God the Father and the Son, serving him. The throne is of both the Father and the Lamb; one throne. We glorify God through His Son. We worship and continue to serve him in heaven. It will be pure joy.

Rev 22:4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

1 Cor 13:10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
1 Cor 13:11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
1 Cor 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

This will be the greatest glory of heaven: to know God, to know Jesus, more intimately and wonderfully than we ever could on earth. "It is the chief blessing of heaven, the cream of heaven, the heaven of heaven, that the saints shall there see Jesus." (Spurgeon)

Rev 7:3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

Sealed by the Holy Spirit. We belong to God, for we are of His Spirit and are identified as being His.

Rev 22:5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

No more darkness in heaven, no sin, no suffering. God gives us his light and we will reign with him for ever. We reign because we are children of the king and receive the eternal inheritance with Jesus.

Col 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
Col 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
Col 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Col 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
Col 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Col 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Col 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
Col 1:19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
Col 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

We were born into sin and separation from God. As born-again saints we are made the righteousness of Christ; holy and eternally reconciled for service and eternal life with the Father and the Son.
