Revelation 22 - Keep the Sayings

Keep the Sayings

Rev 22:6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to show unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.

These sayings, the prophecy of Revelation given to John, these things are faithful and true. For they came from the throne of God. These words are being declared by an angel, to show the things which must shortly be done.

Rev 22:7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

Jesus is coming quickly, when he comes. All generations are to expect him, to anticipate the end and to be prepared. These words tell us of future events and warns us to be true to God's word and to keep our eyes upon Jesus. We shall be blessed if we take heed to these prophesies. Revelation is one book that many do not teach, and those who do, do not often agree. How then can we keep the sayings? There are warnings that all can see. Beware of the coming beast and follow Jesus each minute, for there will be a falling away. There will be hostility towards the church and towards Israel before he comes. This is already happening. Trust in the Lord and keep his sayings. Do not worship a man, Mary or a saint, nor an angel.

Rev 22:8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which showed me these things.

John again, being flesh, fell before the heavenly angel to worship him, but was told not to. An angel is a created servant of God, just as man is.

Rev 22:9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.

Worship God and worship His Son, Jesus. Jesus is not an angel, nor is he just a man. He is God, the Living Word, made flesh.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Heb 1:6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

Mat 14:31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
Mat 14:32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.
Mat 14:33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

Jesus is worshipped with God the Father.
