Isaiah 27 - Leviathan

Leviathan

Isa 27:1 In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.

I see two serpents here; both are evil and of the devil. Leviathan, the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent shall be punished. The serpent in the garden of Eden was the symbol of satan. We can assume that satan is Leviathan, the piercing serpent.

The Hebrew word: bariyach, was translated: piercing, but it also means fleeing. That fleeing crooked serpent, was trying to escape Jesus as he came with the sword of the word of God; His sore and great and strong sword.

Rev 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
Rev 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

The angels caught the serpent, satan, and he was cast into the bottomless pit for a thousand years, but he was not yet destroyed.

Rev 20:1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
Rev 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
Rev 20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

Another serpent came from the sea. This is the antichrist beast: and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.

Rev 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

Rev 13:6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
Rev 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
Rev 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Rev 13:9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.

His end came upon Christ's return, his judgment was swift.

Rev 19:19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
Rev 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

They were so evil, that they went straight to the lake of fire, no hearing or trial. People receive judgment before God, these were as fallen angels, thoroughly taken over by satan, despised of God and receiving quick wrath in the torment of the lake of fire. Many of the world are aligning themselves with this antichrist spirit. Let us give ourselves totally to God, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let none fall away that proclaim his holy name. Leviathan that twisting serpent will twist truth and deceive many in these last days. Let us take up the Lord's sword. The Holy Word of God, the Holy Bible. Speak it to the serpent and his followers. Let the sword of God do the piercing.

Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Isaiah 26 - Safe in the risen Savior

Safe in the risen Savior

Isa 26:19 Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

Who else but Messiah Jesus the living Son of God, could speak this message? People of the law do not see Messiah as dying, nor how could God die? God coming in a human did come and he did die, to be the atonement for our sins. So many law cults teach keeping laws without grace and the coming of Jesus the Messiah as God the son. They do not accept him as God, because he was flesh. God in flesh, came to shed blood, legally paying the requirement for sin. Those who died in faith shall rise as he is risen and live with him forever.

Isa 26:20 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.
Isa 26:21 For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

Speaking of those going through the time of tribulation, when satan controls the world's leader and turns his wrath on God's covenant people. Come my people, the Israel of God and hide yourself for a time, in your hiding place, until the indignation be past. The indignation God's people are hidden from is from the LORD Himself: the LORD comes out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity. They are safe from his wrath, for it is against the evil of the world.

Mat 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
Mat 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Mat 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

The stars that fall and the powers shaken are the gathering up of fallen angels and the devil to be bound during the millenium, until the end. Those who trust in Messiah shall be gathered together to be with him as he reigns on earth for a thousand years. The Jehovah's witnesses do not see beyond this, but we shall continue with the Son of God forever in the Father's dwelling place.

John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Genesis 25 - Esau and Jacob

Esau and Jacob

Gen 25:19 And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son: Abraham begat Isaac:
Gen 25:20 And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padanaram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.
Gen 25:21 And Isaac entreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was entreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

As Sarah, before her, she was barren until Isaac entreated the LORD; then she became pregnant. Verse 26 says that Isaac was sixty years old when Rebecca gave birth. They waited twenty years, and God was faithful, for the promised covenant was to be through their seed.

James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Gen 25:22 And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to inquire of the LORD.

From the womb, the two son's struggled against each other. Their children would continue to be struggling to get along. In a spiritual sense, it is as the struggle between our flesh and obeying God's Holy Spirit.

Gen 25:23 And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.

God told her that two nations were in her womb the younger would rule over the older. They were chosen, one above the other before birth.

Rom 9:11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)
Rom 9:12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.
Rom 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
Rom 9:14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.

One was chosen, the other rejected. Paul points out God's choice was not based on the performance of Jacob or Esau. The choice was made when they were not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil. Does God know who will be saved, by his choice? Perhaps so, yet we are commanded to witness. I do not think it wise to continue to witness where we are openly rejected, like in Atheist chat rooms, but let God's Spirit direct you. He uses us in the process and our prayers do move his hand.

This points out to the all knowing sovereign will of God. Is it fair? Of course it is, he knows what is right and his will shall be done. It was foreordained. This is the election or the choice of God, by his perfect will. I will not say that our part is unnecessary, we are commanded to witness. God draws people to Jesus by his spirit. Jesus was foreordained to be the way for us to be reconciled to God.

Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Eph 1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

The chosen are known by God, from the beginning of creation, yet that does not excuse us from witnessing. He chose us with a purpose. Our purpose will not be fulfilled if we do nothing; it requires obedience.

John 4:35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
John 4:36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
John 4:37 And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
John 4:38 I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.

Gen 25:24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.
Gen 25:25 And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.

Esau means hairy. No, this was not Harry, as in Harry Potter, although they may have some similar traits. Jewish legend called Esau an idolator, from the womb. His people were the Edomites; Edom means red.

Gen 25:26 And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them.

Jacob, meant heel holder, a supplanter; one who replaces another by force or schemes. The idea of a "heel-catcher" meant something in that day. It had the idea of "trickster," "con-man," "scoundrel," or "rascal." It wasn't a compliment. This title fit Jacob.

Gen 25:27 And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents.

The word plain, can mean an ordinary quiet sort of person. The same word was used for Job, being a blameless or perfect man.

Job 1:8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

Gen 25:28 And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob.

As often happens, there were favorites. Not often are different children favored by mom and dad. Isaac loved Esau, a man's man, a strong hairy hunter. Rebekah loved Jacob, who was mild and liked to cook. God also favored one over the other.

Mal 1:2 I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob,
Mal 1:3 And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.

God hated or rejected Esau, from the womb. Yet, we often witness by saying God loves all the same. In Christ Jesus, God loves us. If we continue in disobedience we may be rejected. God does not favor those who reject him, yet we are not God and should not condemn, but use godly wisdom. To be loved by God, we should love him in return. This is the greatest command.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Those who continue in unbelief, they are condemned, that is why we pray for them. Where there is life, there is hope.

Gen 25:29 And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint:
Gen 25:30 And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.

Edom, means red. The descendents of Easau were called Edomites. Herod, in the time of our Lord, was an Edomite.

Gen 25:31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.

Actually God had given Jacob the birthright in the womb, he did not have to trick Esau. This just confirmed the prophesy. It was not stealing, for it was already his. This reminds me of Jesus. Jesus did not steal the name or nature of God, he always was God. Jacob was given the inheritance in the womb, but he sought it by fleshly means, using his trickery. Phil 2:6 (Jesus) Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

Gen 25:32 And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?

Esau, is a type of those who had no regard for God's eternal kingdom, but was more interested in a quick fleshly fulfillment. This may be the curse on our generation, we want things, now. We are an impatient people used to having our fleshly needs and desires.

Gen 25:33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.

The son of the birthright received a double portion of the inheritance, but he also became the head of the family and the spiritual leader upon the passing of the father. And, in the case of this family, the birthright determined who would inherit the covenant God made with Abraham, the covenant of a land, a nation, and the Messiah. Esau had no regard for this, but chose a bowl of stew.

Gen 25:34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.

Heb 12:15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
Heb 12:16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.

As a Christian, I see others who were once with us, who turned away from Christ for some worldly pursuit. This is heartbreaking.

Return to your first love

Rev 2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
Rev 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Do not fall away

2 Th 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
2 Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

Not of us

1 John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
1 John 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

Edomite leaders

Rev 2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

Mat 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Mat 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
Mat 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Mat 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Mat 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

It takes effort to follow God, to pray, to witness to study and to teach. These are things that will last. Earthly things will pass away. Will God receive us and our work for him or will we be rejected, as Esau, who despised his inheritance? Salvation is by faith in Jesus and without him we are lost. In him, we can do the good works of God.

Mat 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

Jesus' reference to violence refers to both the intensity of spiritual warfare surrounding the ministry of Jesus and His herald, and also to the intensity required to persevere in following God and "taking" the kingdom into our hearts. Stand fast and move forward in God's Spirit.

Genesis 25 - Abraham, the father of many nations

Abraham, the father of many nations

Gen 25:1 Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah.

Abraham took a wife--rather, "had taken"; for Keturah is called Abraham's concubine, or secondary wife who bore him six son's.

1 Chr 1:32 Now the sons of Keturah, Abraham's concubine: she bare Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. And the sons of Jokshan; Sheba, and Dedan.

After Sarah's death he would have been 137 years old and he lived to be 175. He had a long and fruitful life.

Gen 25:2 And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.

Zimran means a vine dresser.

Gen 25:3 And Jokshan begat Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.
Gen 25:4 And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abidah, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah.

Moses married a daughter of Jethro, a Midianite.

Through Abraham's many son's, the promise was fulfilled that he would be a father of many nations.

Gen 17:4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.
Gen 17:5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.

Rom 4:17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
Rom 4:18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.
Rom 4:19 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb:
Rom 4:20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
Rom 4:21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
Rom 4:22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.
Rom 4:23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;
Rom 4:24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;
Rom 4:25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Gen 25:5 And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac.

Abraham gave all to the son of the promise, the son of Sarah. The promises of God leading to the Messiah, would be through Sarah's seed.

Gen 17:19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.

Gen 25:6 But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country.

As with Ishmael, the children Keturah, of the flesh were sent away.

Gen 17:20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.
Gen 17:21 But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, ...

1 Cor 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. The children of faith, shall inherit the promise.

Rom 4:13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

Rom 9:7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
Rom 9:8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

Gen 25:7 And these are the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived, an hundred threescore and fifteen years.
Gen 25:8 Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people.

Abraham is our example of a man of faith. His name is mentioned 70 times in the New Testament. It was not Abraham, but his faith in God that made him great.

Rom 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Rom 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

John 8:39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
John 8:40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.

Gen 25:9 And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre;
Gen 25:10 The field which Abraham purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.

Both son's honored the father in burying him in the cave where Sarah was buried. At a funeral the children of the flesh and the children who are of God's spirit, come together to honor the dead. This is a time for brotherly love and often an opportunity to witness. If the deceased was a person of faith it is appropriate to mention this and to give the assurance that the soul is with Jesus, or in the case of Abraham, in paradise, awaiting the Messiah.

Gen 25:11 And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac dwelt by the well Lahairoi.

Abraham gave Isaac all that he owned including the birthright blessing. God's covenant of blessings continued from Abraham to Isaac and to us, as Spiritual children of Abraham by faith in Messiah Jesus.

Gen 25:12 Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, bare unto Abraham:
Gen 25:13 And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,
Gen 25:14 And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,

The tribe of Nebajoth was distinguished for raising sheep. The rams of Nebaioth are the gifts which these Nomadic tribes of the desert would consecrate on the altar of God. (Isaiah 60:7).

The sister of Nebajoth, the daughter Ishmael, Mahalath, was married to Esau. (Gen 28:9)

The sons of Kedar became known as the Kedarites. The Kedarites were the main military power of the sons of Ishmael. Isaiah speaks of Kedar's 'glory and her gifted archers.' (Isaiah 21:16-17) Ezekiel 27:21 associates Arabia with all of the princes of Kedar, suggesting a confederation under their leadership. One of the gods they worshipped was a sky goddess know as Allat. (Herodotus III,3.) Later Allat became referred to in the masculine form as Allah)

mishma signifies HEARING; dumah, SILENCE; and massa, PATIENCE. Hence, the proverb: "Hear much, say little, and bear much,"

Gen 25:15 Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:
Gen 25:16 These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations.

Twelve princes and twelve nations, as God had spoken to Abraham. These would become the Arab nations and often they are enemies of Israel. They would claim to be the true covenant people of God, (Allah) and Mohammad would be their prophet. Israel has many prophets, but the Messiah, Jesus, most have not accepted; not yet. They still look for their deliverer.

Gen 25:17 And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the ghost and died; and was gathered unto his people.

Ishmael was not buried with Abraham and Sarah.

Gen 25:18 And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: and he died in the presence of all his brethren.

It is good to die with your family near you. It is very good to die in faith, knowing you shall not perish. The Christian can know that he will not perish.

John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

We shall be gathered up in the presence of the Lord.

2 Cor 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2 Cor 5:2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
2 Cor 5:3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
2 Cor 5:4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
2 Cor 5:5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.
2 Cor 5:6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
2 Cor 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
2 Cor 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

The children of faith shall inherit the promises of God.

Isaiah 26 - End Time Events

End Time Events

Isa 26:19 Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

This scripture goes along with Paul's teaching of the taking up of the church.

1 Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
1 Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

This is the pre-tribulation rapture.

Isa 26:20 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.

God's wrath shall not abide on his people, Israel. When tribulation comes upon the earth and God sends wrath upon the ungodly, his people will not be subject to his wrath, but many will die as martyrs from the wrath of the antichrist beast, the false man of peace, who makes himself god in Jeruslalem.

Rev 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

The church is raptured and most of Israel must go through the tribulation until the Messiah, Jesus returns to rule and reign. At the end of the tribulation, angels destroy the evil people and gather the Jewish people together to meet their Messiah. Jesus returns to Jerusalem from the clouds.

Isa 26:21 For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

Rev 19:17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
Rev 19:18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

Isa 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
Isa 60:2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

The rapture of the church followed by tribulation, God's wrath and the return of Jesus to rule and reign. This is a prophecy of these events that are revealed in the new testament.

Isaiah 26 - Glorify the LORD

Glorify the LORD

Isa 26:13 O LORD our God, other lords beside thee have had dominion over us: but by thee only will we make mention of thy name.

Other lords have ruled over us; other idols of other nations. Personal idols, such as lust, power and money; lords of nations, foreign kings having taken your people captive. All these do not call on the name of the LORD: but the people of God will proclaim His name and His glory.

Psa 138:2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

1 John 5:21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

Isa 26:14 They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not rise: therefore hast thou visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish.
Isa 26:15 Thou hast increased the nation, O LORD, thou hast increased the nation: thou art glorified: thou hadst removed it far unto all the ends of the earth.

Deu 30:5 And the LORD thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers.
Deu 30:6 And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.
Deu 30:7 And the LORD thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee.
Deu 30:8 And thou shalt return and obey the voice of the LORD, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day.

Isa 26:16 LORD, in trouble have they visited thee, they poured out a prayer when thy chastening was upon them.

God's people cry out when trouble comes and when they are being corrected for their sins.

Psa 25:17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.
Psa 25:18 Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.

1 Pet 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
1 Pet 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Heb 12:5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
Heb 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
Heb 12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

Isa 26:17 Like as a woman with child, that draweth near the time of her delivery, is in pain, and crieth out in her pangs; so have we been in thy sight, O LORD.
Isa 26:18 We have been with child, we have been in pain, we have as it were brought forth wind; we have not wrought any deliverance in the earth; neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen.

The people of God can do nothing apart from him. They have travailed and labored in vain. Only what the Lord brings forth shall last.

Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.

Prov 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Prov 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Prov 3:7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
Prov 3:8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

Desire the LORD - Isaiah 26

Desire the LORD

Isa 26:8 Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.

The way of your judgments, your way of righteousness, the way of your guidance, we seek to follow and obey. We wait for your leading as we remember your word in the Bible. The desire of our soul is to you our Father, to you Jesus our redeemer. We love with all our heart and soul and mind and you are in all of our thoughts and ways.

Isa 26:9 With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

Psa 63:5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:
Psa 63:6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

You are with me in the night and early I will seek you in reading your word and in prayer. We desire more of you our LORD.

John 6:33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
John 6:34 Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.
John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

Col 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Col 1:28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
Col 1:29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

Isa 26:10 Let favour be showed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the LORD.

Mat 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Mat 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil andon the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Mat 13:15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
Mat 13:16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

Isa 26:11 LORD, when thy hand is lifted up, they will not see: but they shall see, and be ashamed for their envy at the people; yea, the fire of thine enemies shall devour them.

Envy and jealousy are wicked things that will consume a person. May those who envy the Lord's people, come to the LORD and be healed of sin.

Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Rom 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Isa 26:12 LORD, thou wilt ordain peace for us: for thou also hast wrought all our works in us.

Isa 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Make the LORD the focus of our hearts, night and day. Seek him in his word, in prayer and he will direct our lives. Be a witness to those not yet trusting in him, be kind and show them the way to life, through our Lord Jesus Christ. This we do until we are with him in eternal glory.

Isaiah 26 - Enter His Gates

Enter His Gates

Isa 26:1 In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.

Singing a song of the return of Jesus to Jerusalem. The strength of the city is the presence of the Lord. The structure in a spiritual metaphor, is salvation, built on the Solid Rock of faith and obedience to the Messiah: The Lord Jesus Christ.

Isa 26:2 Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.

In earthly Jerusalem, the gates are open to the righteous nations. In the new Jerusalem that will come down after the reign of Jesus, the gates are closed to sinners. No sin may enter into God's house.

Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
Rev 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Isa 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Jesus gives us perfect peace, now.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Isa 26:4 Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
Isa 26:5 For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.

The LORD Jehovah does not work apart from his son, Jesus. They share titles and have the same spirit being one God with the Holy Spirit. Jesus returns with power and authority to judge the nations.

Isa 26:6 The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and the steps ofthe needy.

1 Cor 15:25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
1 Cor 15:26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
1 Cor 15:27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
1 Cor 15:28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

Rom 16:20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

Isa 26:7 The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just.

1 Pet 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
1 Pet 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

Only those in Christ Jesus shall overcome. We do not come to Jehovah and neglect the way to him. Jesus is the way, and with him is the power of God. The Bible is about Jesus, and the salvation of God to a fallen people, through faith in the only begotten Son of God.
