Re: Body piercing

(They should look to) Jesus Christ and how His body piercings can save their lives.  Piercing our own bodies or shedding our own blood can never atone for the multitude of sins that we have accumulated in this lifetime.  Only the blood of the perfect sacrifice, Jesus Christ, has the power to wash away our sin. (Jeff Myers)

Yes, those who do body piercing are not as Jesus. Satan pierced our Lord, and perhaps satan is the author of the body piercing bondage. Some also are cutters as the prophets of Baal and the Gadarenes man (sounds like Nazaene) who was cutting himself.

Mark 5:5  And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.

Piercings and cutting can be a sign of demonic influence.

A wife who had four children, a Christian husband, seeks a divorce, commits adultery  and receives a large tattoo above her buttocks. Oh thats just in style one might say. Yet, it was done in a place called "the dark side'" Do children of the light, pierce and tattoo and cut thenselves? I am not their judge, but there is a better way of life.

2 Cor 6:17  Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

Jesus was pierced for us, we no longer must have the awl placed to our ear to be identified as a bond slave. We are pierced with Jesus on that cross and we with Jesus are to walk in newness of life. I do not see this as identifying with the world's things, but being complete in Jesus alone. The world calls in anger and in despair to us, much as did the people of Sodom to the angels who visited Lot. The world wanted to corrupt the holy angels. We are holy in the Lord. Do not let the world corrupt you, with their ways and with their insults. It is not of God, but from the dark side.   Gary
