Luke-Family of God

Luke 8:19  Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press.

His mother and brothers could not get to him because of the crowd pressing towards him. His mother knew who he was, but his brothers did not believe in him until after the resurrection. Jesus had brothers? Yes, and sisters. They thought he was a bit strange. They were from Joseph and Mary, and we know Jesus' Father is God, born of a the virgin Mary.

Mark 6:3  Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

Luke 8:20  And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.
Luke 8:21  And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.

We have a physical family and we have a spiritual family. Which is closest to us? God was the Father of Jesus, so Jesus wanted spiritual family. If we are born-again of the Spirit, we desire Spiritual friends more than flesh relatives. There is not much to say to our unsaved brothers, but we can be a long way from home and still find family in the Lord. The best thing would be that our flesh family be Spirit filled. Not everyone, including Jesus had this kind of family. However, afterhis resurrection his brothers believed in him. His half brother James and Jude wrote the epistles by their name in the Bible. Keep praying for they are watching you, and by your witness and prayers they shall be saved too. Who is the mother and brethren of the Lord? Those who hear the word of God and do it.

James 1:25  But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

To do God's will and to have faith in Jesus is to be in God's blessed family.   Eaglewings Daily Bible
