Natural man, Spiritual man

+ "A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word darkness on the walls of his cell."  (C.S. Lewis)
2 Tim 2:13  If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

Yes, a good quote. So often I hear people who say they hear from God, but refuse His Bible. Every word was put there for our understanding. The more we understand, the greater our faith. Our faith is not in a dream, or hearing from an angel or a god. These are words of faith that he keeps as he keeps us. His promises are sure or we are lost. There is always a dissension between those who only see the natural world and those of faith. Faith must be based on truth.

Acts 23:6  But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question.
Acts 23:7  And when he had so said, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and the Sadducees: and the multitude was divided.
Acts 23:8  For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.
Acts 23:9  And there arose a great cry: and the scribes that were of the Pharisees' part arose, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an angel hath spoken to him, let us not fight against God.
Acts 23:10  And when there arose a great dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should have been pulled in pieces of them, commanded the soldiers to go down, and to take him by force from among them, and to bring him into the castle.

If all we believe only in what we see, then we are only natural men and not Spiritual.

1 Cor 2:14  But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
1 Cor 2:15  But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
1 Cor 2:16  For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

The Bible gives us the testimony of a natural man who saw and believed, and was made a Spiritual man. This was Thomas.

John 20:27  Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
John 20:28  And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
John 20:29  Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

This is our faith. We believe the true report and are Born again of His Spirit. Thank you Jesus!
