Luke-Labourers

Luke 10:1  After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.

Two witnesses were required by the law to confirm a report. Jesus sent out seventy more people, to announce his coming.

Luke 10:2  Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

The harvest of souls is great, the workers are few. What then? We should work harder and pray for others to help in the harvest of souls. It bothers me to see gatherings of Christians where there is little interest in the things of God. They do not discuss scriptures or share their testimonies. How will people hear and be saved?

Rom 10:13  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Rom 10:14  How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
Rom 10:15  And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
Rom 10:16  But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
Rom 10:17  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Let's get busy, the Lord needs workers in the harvest, he is coming again.
