Revelation 20 - Satan bound

Satan bound

Rev 20:1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

An angel, come down from heaven, with the key, the power and authority, to open the dark bottomless pit. He also had a great chain in his hand. This was symbolic of the binding of satan. Satan is a spirit, so the binding is in the spirit. The disciples of Jesus Christ, have power over the spirits given to them now.

Mat 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Even with this power, satan has continued to send lies and opposition to the Church. Here in Revelation, we see that at the coming of Christ, he shall be spiritually bound with a spiritual chain.

Rev 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
Rev 20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

The old devil, shall be bound and cast into a bottomless pit, outer darkness, for a thousand years, the time of Jesus' reign as king over the people and nations of the earth. He was not yet cast into the lake of fire. That deceiver will be loosed one final time at the end of the thousand years; and yes he will deceive many of the descendants of Adam to follow him in rebellion against the authority of God. That disobedient spirit is strong today, but when Jesus reigns, he will not allow it. God is love yes, but he is never tolerant of sins. The authority of God will keep order by the rod of iron, no soft winking at crime, abortion, and gross sins. Righteousness shall reign, and because of this satan had to be bound.

In our Internet chat rooms, satan must be bound also. The liar and divider must be removed or ignored, to insure the peace of God and to allow the seeker to find him without opposition within the room. A church service could not continue, if people stood up and said opposing words during the preaching. These will be removed, as the angel removed satan from the Kingdom of God on earth. We must be led by the Spirit of God, through the whole word of God. What Paul spoke was the word of God as much as what was spoken by Jesus and the prophets. We do not cut out parts of the Bible that convict us of sin. We are to cut out the sins, not the word of truth.

Eph 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
Eph 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
Eph 4:31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
Eph 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Luke 17:3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
Luke 17:4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

Rom 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

For sure...The devil and those under his command are all over the Internet and chat rooms...same as he is in the rest of all avenues of the world...government...politics...and even churches. We must bind the things that need to be bound and loose those which need to be loosed. That is the battle and the work...And it doesn't happen by accident. gh
