Luke - Mocked and hated

Luke 22:63 And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and smote him.

Ignorant men lacking God's spirit, do the will of satan. We may be treated as this also.

John 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
John 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

Luke 22:64 And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee?

He would not do what they requested. He would do what the Father told him. He obeyed God, his father. This was as satan tempting him in the wilderness, to follow his bidding and not God. They were mocking him, having no faith in themselves.

Mat 4:3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
Mat 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Luke 22:65 And many other things blasphemously spake they against him.

Could these men be saved? Yes, if they repented and believed in Jesus, even these could be saved from their sins. Remember this when accused, when mocked, when told mockingly to perform God's things to unbelief. They did this first to Jesus.

Mat 12:30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.
Mat 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
Mat 12:32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

Thank God for his grace and forgiveness through Christ Jesus. We come to Jesus through the drawing of the Holy Ghost, the way of forgiveness is through Jesus Christ. Having not Jesus in our life and we are not forgiven, we die in our sins.
