Mark - A Solitary Place

A Solitary Place

Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

Jesus was always busy, morning to night, but not too busy to spend time with his Father. It appears that he had little sleep, yet his time was always well spent. Do you have a place to be alone to pray, without distractions?

Mark 1:36 And Simon and they that were with him followed after him.

He wasn't completely alone, for his close disciples followed him.

John 12:25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
John 12:26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

Mark 1:37 And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee.

Never alone for long, his disciples come to him with the needs of the people. All men sought him now, for he spoke the true word of God and healed the afflicted. He was greater than John the Baptist who also had many followers. John pointed all to Jesus and so should we.

John 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
John 3:31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.
