Mark - Jesus is able

Jesus is able

Mark 3:20 And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.

As the disciples were in the house with Jesus, the mutitude came to them, so that they were even unable to eat. A crowd can be confusing, but they came for Jesus. He is their hope. Jesus is still our hope.

Mark 3:21 And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself.

These friends were perhaps of his own household, who did not see him as the Son of God. Is God ever confused? Is God perplexed or beside himself? Does God need help? Weak flesh needs help, but Jesus was well able to calm the crowd as he calmed the raging sea by speaking to it.

Mark 3:22 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.

Oh oh, now here are the religious leaders, the keepers of God's word accusing the living Word. The Scribes say that he does these mighty miracles by the power of the devil. Jesus would have to defend himself. They did not know Jesus. They themselves were doing the work of satan. Beware of the accusers! The scribes were not of God's Spirit. Jesus will teach them a lesson about the Holy Spirit. He certainly knew the spirits.

John 3:34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.

At times when we are tired or hungry, satan may send crowds or confusion and the accusers to bring you down. Stand in God's Spirit and do not fall. The Lord is your strength. You stand in His word and the devil will flee.

James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

If we run from the devil, we will not find rest.
