Revelation 17 - The eighth king

The eighth King

Rev 17:6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration (wonder).

The woman, the false religion supported by the antichrist, shall be drunk with the blood of the martyrs. It is a bloody religion attacking the true people of God, thinking this pleases their god. Do you know the one you worship?

Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

The woman's god, perhaps unknown, is satan. She enjoys this killing of Jews and Christians, to the point of drinking their blood, as an intoxicated drunk. Satan in her, thrills and compels her to do evil, much as someone caught in the compulsion of pornography. It is the antichrist spirit.

Rev 17:7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.

John, is not to be wondering, the mystery is to be revealed. The beast carries her, uses her for his purpose. Church and state in it's ugliest. They say separate us from church and state even now, but what they really are saying is, separate us from Jesus and the Word of God. Even now they embrace the antichrist spirit.

Rev 17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

The seven heads are seven mountains: Many quickly associate the seven mountains with Rome and the Papacy, because Rome is well known as the city on seven hills. Yet literally, the Greek word means mountains, not hills. (Guzik)

Rev 17:9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.

Mountains not hills, representing nations and kings.

Rev 17:10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.

We go back in history to see the five fallen kingdoms: Egypt, Assyria, Babylonia, Medo-Persia, and Greece. The one that is, in John's time was Rome; and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.Who is the seventh kingdom? I am not sure about the seventh king. Perhaps Mohammed, or the nations of Islam? Perhaps the Jews will think it is the kingdom of God, being set up in Jerusalem by the man of peace? The one world empire. The one world government, headed by the satanic beast. We are rapidly heading towards this final time. They will be times of trouble, making the world ready for the false Christ, the man of peace.

Rev 17:11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

The beast shall be of all the characteristics of the previous world rulers, even as he is the eighth ruler. He will go into perdition; God will cast him into the lake of fire. The beast and false prophet were not put in waiting for their trial and sentencing. Their judgment was swift.

Rev 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
