Revelation 16 - Watch and keep the garments

Watch and keep the garments

Rev 16:12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.

The dried river would be easily crossed by the nations and a roadway for invading armies from the East. In time they would come against God and His Messiah.

Psa 2:2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
Psa 2:3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

Rev 16:13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
Rev 16:14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

Demons, like frogs come out of the mouth of Satan, the false prophet and the antichrist. Were they expelled? No, they came out as lies, slimy creeping things, lying wonders and evil deeds. They will inhabit the kings of the world, principalities and powers; It is a demonic controlled people who would come against God's anointed. We are the people of God, speaking truth. The Spirit in us goes out like a dove, bringing peace. Our strength is in the coming King, the Lord Jesus Christ and the almighty God and Father.

Rev 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

What are these garments that we are to watch and keep?

White raiment, the righteousness of Jesus Christ.

Rev 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
Rev 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

Gal 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

The armour of light

Rom 13:12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Clothed with humility

1 Pet 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

The Garment of praise

Isa 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

They see your shame? Those who come against Christ will also come against you with accusations and see you as naked and unarmed, so put on Christ, your righteousness. The last garment we shall put on is our glorified bodies when we are gathered together with Jesus in the air.

Clothed in our glorified body

2 Cor 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2 Cor 5:2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:

Notice that our new glorified body is not made from the corrupt earthly body, but from God in heaven.

2 Cor 5:3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
2 Cor 5:4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.

Wear the garments that God has provided you, through Jesus Christ.
