Isaiah 24 - Final Judgment is Coming

Final Judgment is Coming

Isa 24:1 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.

It is true that God's ways are opposite of the world's ways spiriritually.

Luke 16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

There have been times of judgment in the past and there will be the time of the final judgment ; I believe that this is coming soon. Hopefully the church will be raptured before this happens.

Revelation 9, speaks of four horsemen bringing tribulation to the earth.

Verse 18; ...the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone,...

Rev 9:20 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:
Rev 9:21 Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

Isa 24:2 And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him.
Isa 24:3 The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken this word.

All people of the earth will be affected by these plagues. We are told that God's people are not under the wrath of God; but we know that God's people suffer as others from major calamities of the weather and conditions on the earth. The wrath of God's final judgment will not be on those of God, but we do not want to be here when the tribulation comes; it will come upon all people.

Isa 24:4 The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish.

Here are the haughty people, these are the reason for the judgment. It is because of those who are of the antichrist, who rejected God and His Son. Their pride and demonic spirit will cause the tribulation, which results in the cleansing of the earth, from it's evil people.

Isa 24:5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.

The prophets says of the future judgment; the earth was defiled by the sin of the people; they trangressed the laws of God, and changed the ordinances.

The Hebrew word for ordinance here is torah, which often means the law of God and the word of God. Mankind is ripe for judgment because we have changed God's word into something "lighter," into something "more acceptable." (Guzik)

They broke the everlasting covenant. This was the Abrahamic Covenant which applied to all children of faith in God, through Jesus Christ. To not believe in him, brings condemnation.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Isa 24:6 Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.

The earth shall be judged by fire, and few men will survive.

2 Pet 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
2 Pet 3:4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
2 Pet 3:5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
2 Pet 3:6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
2 Pet 3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
2 Pet 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
2 Pet 3:14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

Recently a dear friend passed away; her time for work on earth was over. To her close friends and perhaps even herself, it was unexpected; as she died peacefully in her sleep, having no warning. One final word for each of us, is to be ready, for the end could come at any moment.
