Revelation 7 - Tribulation martyrs

Tribulation Saints

Rev 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

Following the sealing of the 144,000 and perhaps as a result of their witnessing, there were a great multitude in heaven from every nation and race and language. These stood before the throne and the Lamb, for they are together, Father and Son. They were clothed in white robes, the righteousness received by faith in Jesus and in their hands, palms or palm leaves, as in worshipping Jesus as he entered Jerusalem.

Mat 21:8 And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strowed them in the way.
Mat 21:9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

Hosanna, save us now; these were the saved in Jesus, those washed in the blood of the Lamb.

Rev 7:10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb who came out of the tribulation.

Salvation belongs to God and the Lamb. The multitude knew where salvation was given.

Rev 7:11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
Rev 7:12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

The angels as God's creations also fall before the throne and worship, not for salvation, for this was strange to them.

1 Pet 1:12 ... unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever.

Rev 7:13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?

Good question.

Rev 7:14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

These are the saints of God who were killed during the great tribulation. Killed by the antichrist and his followers, for God does not send his wrath to his own people. The question again, who are these? Is it the church, those who we thought were to be raptured? Maybe, or they are those who came to Jesus as the result of the witness of the 144,000 sealed of Israel.

Rev 7:15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.

They serve God day and night, dressed in priestly robes, desiring to have their king dwell with them.

Rev 7:16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
Rev 7:17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

The Good Shepherd shall forever meet their needs. Interesting, they will be fed food, yes and spiritual food. The word of God; they shall never hunger or thirst again. The need for sun shall be supplied by the Son of God. They shall have living fountains, symbolic of the abundant Holy Spirit. and no more sorrows, for God shall wipe away ALL their tears. Earth is the place for tears and it is the place where we begin to follow, depend upon and trust our Good Shepherd.

Heb 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Heb 13:6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Psa 23:2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
Psa 23:3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
