Revelation 10 - The Book Eaten

Open Book Eaten

Rev 10:1 And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:

After the sixth angel blew the sixth trumpet, we have a pause and another angel appears. This was not Jesus, because Jesus is not an angel. He was clothed in a glory cloud with a rainbow upon his head, representing God's covenant promise. His face was bright as the sun and his feet, pillars of fire. Was this the angel that guided Israel in the wilderness? Angels from God do the will of the LORD.

Exo 13:21 And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

In Daniel we learn that Michael is the Arch angel and that he is the angel of Israel.

Dan 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

Rev 10:2 And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth,

Was this the book of life, as described in Daniel? Michael stands up for the people of God in Israel.

Rev 10:3 And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.

Seven the number of perfection; he spoke the perfect will of God.

Rev 10:4 And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.

Psa 29:3 The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters.
Psa 29:4 The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.

Daniel was not to write down the words spoken by the seven thunders.

Rev 10:5 And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,
Rev 10:6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:

The angel had power over land and sea, as God's servant. It was the end of the world, drawing near, the time of God's kingdom was near.

Rev 10:7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

When the seventh angel sounds the trumpet, then the end time mystery shall be revealed, as spoken by the prophets of God. Mysteries are in the Bible that need to be revealed. The church was a mystery revealed; that all nations may come to God through Jesus Christ. There is the seventy week prophecy of Daniel, the final week being the final seven years at the end of satan's rule and the beginning of the kingdom of God on earth for a thousand years. These things shall be revealed as we continue in the book of Revelation.

Rev 10:8 And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.
Rev 10:9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.

Psa 119:103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

Rev 10:10 And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
Rev 10:11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.

Daniel was given a revelation of the antichrist, the mystery revealed made him sick, yet he too was to share what he had heard.

Dan 8:23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.
Dan 8:24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.
Dan 8:25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
Dan 8:26 And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days.
Dan 8:27 And I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward I rose up, and did the king's business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood it.

God's word is to be eaten, taken within, it is sweet in the mouth, but often the hard things, the judgments of God leave bitterness in the stomach, but not in the Spirit. The Spirit of God speaks forth the ingested word of God and many are blessed if they take heed to it.
