Bartimaeus
Mark 10:46 And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.
Blind Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, dependent on others sat by the highway as Jesus approached.
Mark 10:47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.
He made himself heard.
Mark 10:48 And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.
Others wanted him to be quiet, but others were not full of faith, nor were they blind and with one hope. He appealed to Jesus as a son of David and as a fellow Jew trusting in God's promises.
Mark 10:49 And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.
Jesus stood still at his cry. He hears the cries of his people of faith.
Mark 10:50 And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.
He obeyed the voice of Jesus, rose, and came to him. Faith requires action when God speaks a command.
Mark 10:51 And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.
Mark 10:52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
He asked and received his sight, immediately; thy faith has made thee whole. Are you whole? Ask Jesus to provide your need, in faith believing, get his attention and be made well.
James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
James 1:7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

Others wanted him to be quiet, but others were not full of faith, nor were they blind and with one hope.
Oh, if only those of our times would realize that they have only one hope also. But, they too, are blind and don't really know. Lord, help all Your children to shine Your light so more might see Him as their truth and that their blind eyes might really see.
