Mark - One more question needed

One more question needed

Mark 12:28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?

Now it is a scribe who questions Jesus, following the Saducees. There was a scribe, one who was not necessarily with the others who plotted to have Jesus look as an infidel, so that they might kill him. This scribe knew the scriptures and was asking an important question. It is not wrong to ask questions and to search the scriptures regarding a teacher or the words of a prophet, we are told to compare these to the word of God.

John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Acts 17:10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
Acts 17:12 Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.

2 Tim 2:14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
2 Tim 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2 Tim 2:16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

Mark 12:29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
Mark 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Mark 12:31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
Mark 12:32 And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:

One God who has sent the Son and the Holy Spirit of God for our salvation and our restitution to himself. This is hard for many Jews to see. Salvation is not by law keeping alone, but by grace through faith in God and his Son, His power and His truth from God's Spirit of truth to make us new spirit creations.

Mark 12:33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
Mark 12:34 And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.

He was not far from the kingdom of God. The entrance was by faith in Jesus Christ. And no man durst ask him any question. Their hearts were intent on killing him. One more question was needed. Are you the savior sent from God? Yes, the answer is yes. But, the power of darkness kept them silent and outside of the kingdom. Come out of the dark, away from the crowd who seek to destroy Jesus and receive eternal life. It is your decision.
