Warnings and Corrections

Warnings and Correction

The Lord is Our Deliverer

Psa 33:16  There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
Psa 33:17  An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.

There is much evil in our land; as an apple with a rotten core. We trust in our mighty war machines, in our jets and bombs, but do not want God in our government and schools. The core is becoming rotten with activist judges and laws that are contrary to God's laws. There is still a hope, if we turn to the LORD.

Psa 33:18  Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;
Psa 33:19  To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
Psa 33:20  Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.
Psa 33:21  For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.
Psa 33:22  Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.

In time of peril, in times of food shortages, high gas prices, floods, earthquakes, enemy invasions, in times the this, we need the LORD. We need to dilgently and humbly seek him.

A Slothful People

Eccl 10:18  By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through.

As in the natural, things soon decay from neglect, so it is in the spiritual. Is our spiritual house falling apart from neglecting prayer and hearing from God?

Psa 123:1  A Song of degrees. Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.
Psa 123:2  Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.

We are your servants, waiting on you to know what you desire. We are to study your Bible, become doers of the word and follow your Spirit. We are alert and ready to go where you tell us to go.

Psa 123:3  Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.
Psa 123:4  Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.

As the people do not want the LORD in their land, making evil the law of the land, they also do not like the LORD'S people. Those who are at ease in sin do not like God's people and the proud have contempt for those who follow the LORD.

John 10:27  My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
John 10:28  And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
We are to follow the Lord, watching his hand, for we are in his hand, he owns us and places us where we should be.

The Rulers of the World

Exo 5:2  And Pharaoh said, Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD, neither will I let Israel go.

Deu 1:13  Take you wise men, and understanding, and known among your tribes, and I will make them rulers over you.

Rom 13:3  For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
Rom 13:4  For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

Therulers and leaders of the world do not know God, so we cannot trust them. We are to keep the laws and honor them in as much as the laws do not go against God's word. Governments are set up by God to defend the people from evil. Woe to a people if the government is evil.

God's People must Be Disciples of God

Isa 8:15  And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.

Evil people will fall. All who do not seek God will fall into sin and be taken captive to evil ways.

Isa 8:16  Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.

The disciples of the LORD must hide the word in their hearts and be sealed by the Holy Spirit.

Isa 8:17  And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.
Isa 8:18  Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.

God's people shall seek God and do great exploits.

Isa 8:19  And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?

Do not follow psychics, witches, horoscopes and the evil things that the foolish and rebellious people follow. Turn towards God and seek him.

Isa 8:20  To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

His word and his presence is our light. Those seeking other gods have no light, the have no truth, they walk in darkness. Their hope was in false words, they have no hope.

Isa 8:21  And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.

They curse and blame God for their condition, but they chose the wide path.

Isa 8:22  And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.

Much activity, or quiet trust in the True God?

The prophets of Baal sought to gain his attention by much activity, dancing and shouting, cutting themselves and crying out, but they worshipped in vain a false god.

Do we worship by yelling and pushing people to worship? We are to worship in Spirit and truth. We are led by the Spirit.  Elijah waited upon the LORD. He heard from God and quietly obeyed him. God moved mightily through his obedient servant.

1 Ki 18:19  Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel's table.
1 Ki 18:20  So Ahab sent unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together unto mount Carmel.
1 Ki 18:21  And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.
1 Ki 18:22  Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the LORD; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men.
1 Ki 18:23  Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under:
1 Ki 18:24  And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.
1 Ki 18:25  And Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullock for yourselves, and dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire under.
1 Ki 18:26  And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made.
1 Ki 18:27  And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.
1 Ki 18:28  And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them.
1 Ki 18:29  And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded.
1 Ki 18:30  And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down.
1 Ki 18:31  And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the LORD came, saying, Israel shall be thy name:
1 Ki 18:32  And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed.
1 Ki 18:33  And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood.
1 Ki 18:34  And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time.
1 Ki 18:35  And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water.
1 Ki 18:36  And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.
1 Ki 18:37  Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.
1 Ki 18:38  Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.
1 Ki 18:39  And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The LORD, he is the God; the LORD, he is the God.
1 Ki 18:40  And Elijah said unto them, Take the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape. And they took them: and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and slew them there.

Wait Upon The LORD

Isa 40:27  Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God?

Our ways are not hidden, the LORD sees all and will reward accordingly.

Isa 40:28  Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

The LORD is awake and alert, perhaps we have been sleeping?

Isa 40:29  He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
Isa 40:30  Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

Wait upon the LORD for your strength. We have not for we ask not.

Isa 40:31  But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Be Obedient Servants

Jesus is showing us that being a servant and doing his will is our duty, nothing to be praised for.

Luke 17:7  But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?
Luke 17:8  And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?
Luke17:9  Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.
Luke 17:10  So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

Keep His Commandments

Mat 5:19  Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Greatest Commands

Mat 22:36  Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
Mat 22:37  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38  This is the first and great commandment.
Mat 22:39  And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Mat 22:40  On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

A Disciple Of Jesus

Luke 14:26  If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

Jesus is not teaching us to hate. But, he is comparing the love for these  to the love of God and his way. Most put all their interest into pleasing others, or finding a mate, or looking good. Jesus wants you to seek God's way first.

Luke 14:27  And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
Luke 14:28  For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
Luke 14:29  Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,
Luke 14:30  Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.
Luke 14:31  Or what king, goingto make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?
Luke 14:32  Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.
Luke 14:33  So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
Luke 14:34  Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned?
Luke 14:35  It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

The Times Are Evil, Look Up

Luke 21:26  Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
Luke 21:27  And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
Luke 21:28  And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Jesus' Warning

Rev 2:1  Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;
Rev 2:2  I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:
Rev 2:3  And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.
Rev 2:4  Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
Rev 2:5  Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
Rev 2:6  But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

(Holding the error of Balaam, casting a stumbling block before the church of God by upholding the liberty of idolotry as well as committing fornication. Serving other gods and committing fornication. Putting things that are not ofGod, above God and living impure lives. False teachers.)

Rev 2:7  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
