Luke - Merchandise

  Luke 19:45  And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought;
Luke 19:46  Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.

The court of the Gentiles, were the outer courts where Gentiles came seeking to worship God. In this place were animals, sold for sacrifices and money changers who cheated, giving an unfair rate of exchange for money from other places to be converted into the temple money. It was made into a den of thieves, making merchandise and gain from those seeking God.

Any ministry that sells their work must pray about this. Are they serving God or are they keeping the Gentiles from God, those seeking God, making merchandise of them? Are we helping others find Jesus or are we in the way? What is our motive? Will Jesus say, well done good and faithful servant? or depart from me, ye worker of iniquity?
