Mark - Prayer Time

Prayer Time

Mark 6:45 And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people.

Jesus sent his close disciples away, in a ship, would they be conversing between themselves of the great miracle they were a part of? Did they see Jesus as God's Son? Perhaps there was doubt, or lack of concern? How many miracles has God done for us, that we have soon forgotten?

Mark 6:46 And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray.

At last Jesus was truly alone, to pray in a wilderness place with His Father. Listening is equally important in communication as is speaking.

Mark 6:47 And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.

He prayed into the night and the ship was well out to sea. This would be a night to remember. Jesus would walk to them upon the sea!
