Eaglewings-Consider the requirements

Luke 14:28  For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?

We are comparing again. It requires planning and commitment before we build a tower, We do not start what we cannot finish. So it is with being a disciple of the Lord. It may not be easy and it requires dedication and discipline, to be a disciple. Are you willing to count the cost?

Luke 14:29  Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,
Luke 14:30  Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.

Likewise if we fail to serve the Lord with a whole heart, people will mock us and more importantly we may bring dishonor to our Lord for being unfaithful servants.

Luke 14:31  Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?
Luke 14:32  Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.

Are we able to face the enemy in war? First we must make peace with God. Our King is greater than the King of this world.

Luke 14:33  So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

We must trust completely in our Lord and our king and learn of him with all of our heart and lean not on our own ways and things.   Prov 3:5  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Prov 3:6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Prov 3:7  Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
Prov 3:8  It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
