Things can get hard sometimes as we all know. But when people are busy building walls of protection, numbing themselves to reality, staying angry or retreating from God and everything else. What they are in effect doing... is... building  their own defense. No one can come in; including God. And they are not coming out to risk another wound.  (gh)   As you said, some deal with hurts by putting up walls. All seems tp be alright, but do not get too personal, because no one is allowed behind the walls. These walls are especially dangerous because they could harbor bad spirits. The walls become strongholds, One such person online had two bad spirits that tried to keep others away. On the outside all was smiles , but on the inside the spirits were gaining more and more control until the day she took her own life.
