Hear Jesus
Mark 9:5 And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
Mark 9:6 For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid.
Peter not knowing what to say, offers to make temporary dwellings for Moses, Elijah and Jesus. They were risen spirits, they needed no earthly dwelling place.
Heb 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
Heb 11:14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
Heb 11:15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.
Heb 11:16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
Mark 9:7 And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
God the Father spoke from a cloud that overshadowed them: hear my Son, continuously hear the words of Jesus who shall make a new covenant by His shed blood.
Mark 9:8 And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves.
Only Jesus now, The law and the prophets prepared us to meet the Son of God. We are to hear and obey him.
Mark 9:9 And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead.
Mark 9:10 And they kept that saying with themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean.
They had many questions. Soon, they would understand, soon they would receive the Holy Spirit and be able to see the things of God and to speak boldly the message of the new covenant.
